One of the most commonly used material that is used as a support structure is HIPS or High Impact Polystyrene.

HIPS is a blend of polystyrene and rubber and has the peculiar property of dissolving in limonene solution. So, you don’t need to use abrasives or cutting tools to free the printed product from the frame. Limonene solution too is easy to make.
